The media and information ecosystem is undergoing fundamental change: platforms are increasingly taking on the role of traditional gatekeepers and determining which content gains public visibility. For young people, this means a specific information reality – algorithmically curated, fragmented and often a world away from traditional media formats.
In the workshop, we will link this reality faced by young people to systemic questions: How is non-formal youth and media education responding to these shifts? What approaches, methods and attitudes are needed to empower young people in an increasingly complex information environment?
